The Principal of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda was transferred to the Education Ministry with immediate effect following the recommendations of a preliminary inquiry held with regard to the school, the Ministry said today.
Education Ministry Media Secretary Kalpa Gunaratne said in a statement that the Ministry Secretary Sunil Hettiarachchi had made this transfer on the approval of the Education Services Committee of the Public Service Commission.
“The preliminary investigation was held following several complaints received by the Ministry regarding the admission of students to Grade 1 and other administrative issues in the school,” Mr. Gunaratne said. (Kalathma Jayawardhane and Chaturanga Pradeep)

Pretty obvious! This was a game these Principals of national schools have been engaged for a long long time. Thank you Minister of Education for your action to curb corruption in the education sector!

Sad news. She works a lot to the school. Very Good Principal. All are internal politics. Will see what will happen next.

Thanks for mentioning Royal Principal. They do not have guts to do it. We all knows the last year incident. Principal is still there. Few teachers transferred.

They must be removed from service if found guilty of corruption. Cushioning them with another job or transfer to another school is not the remedy to be adopted. As long as they know a job is assured, their corrupt activities will follow them.

Keep it up Mr.Minister, go ahead and do the needful everywhere it deserves without bowing your head to any powerful person .There are several such teachers and swollen-headed principals who hold parents and pupils at ransom. These old rugged principals and teachers of some schools think that you are inexperienced and too young to be an education minister and they know better.
