National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC) under the purview Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs has launched a continuous professional development (CPD) program for the public sector to maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills of public sector professionals. Dinesh Weerakkody Chairman NHRDC observed that CPD ensures that you and your knowledge stay relevant and up to date. You are then more aware of the changing trends and directions in your profession. He noted -the pace of change is probably faster than it’s ever been – and this is a feature of the new normal that we live and work in. If you stand still you will get left behind, as the currency of your knowledge and skills becomes out-dated. The first lecture was conducted at Auditorium, Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training on the 10th May by PIM Director Dr. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri on the topic of “Winning mind” for the middle and above management in public sector. 76public sector officers participated.NHRDC will conduct a series of lectures to enhance the skills and knowledge of public sector officers in the next 12 months.
