Bullshit! Persons from these seven countries visiting Sri lanka as late as November last year were forced to pay for visa's with the officials saying that they hadn't received proper instructions.

Allow Longer Visa Application Tuesday, 02 April 2024 11:35 AM

Allow options for longer Visa’s before the tourist arrival to SL. Currently some given 30 days and expected to extend it in SL if a need to stay further. This will result in changing departure flights or getting new tickets, thereby incurring additional cost. Most tourist will plan a trip a few months before they start the holiday and will try to get a reasonable airline and accommodation package for early birds!

In recognition of the massive contribution made by Jaffna Tamils in the development of Singapore during British rule , it has allowed visa free travel to Sri Lankans for many years. Are we reciprocating ?

    Kasun Tuesday, 02 April 2024 05:47 PM

Singapore allows visa free entry to everyone. Nothing to do with Jaffna Tamils, who were actually a nuisance during their development drive.

Why you charge tourists coming from UK???? Any reason?????. If you want to attract tourists coming to the country offer them visa free entry.

MOUTHING OFF ABOUT TOURIST NUMBERS Monday, 01 April 2024 08:56 PM

MARK MY WORDS, INCLUDING RUSSIA AND CHINA IN ABLE TO OBTAIN FREE VISAS FOR ENTRY INTO SRI LANKA, WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF ALL DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DECISION. HARIN CAN KEEPBOASTING ABOUT THE TOURIST NUMBERS COMING INTO THE COUNTRY BUT HE HAD LOST SIGHT OF THE SCAMMERS, DRUG PEDDLERS, MONEY LAUNDERING, PROSTITUTES,ILLEGAL BUSINESSES POPPING UP LIKE MUSHROOMS ETC.

if the pilot project has been extended until April 30, then why is the immigration website charging visa fees from these citizens? Minister Harin Fernando, as always, does not coordinate his statements with the Ministry of Emigration and Migration?? This is unprofessionalism and another loss of reputation for Sri Lanka! When will you learn to do something normally???

Excellent move, why not allow free entry to Sri Lanka from any country, visa free allowed for 45 days only.

Rajkumar Nagarajah Monday, 01 April 2024 11:31 PM

If Sri Lankans respect the immigration laws of other countries, we can surely get visa free entry to many countries. We, each Sri Lankans are tarnishing our country's reputation in many ways and every aspect of our action and baselessly put the blame on the politicians.

FREE VISAS AT THIS POINT OF TIME IS WORTHLESS AS THE TOURISTS THAT USUALLY SPEND BIG KEEP AWAY WITH ALL THECORRUPTION, SEX STARVED MEN ON THE PROWL, SHOOTINGS, MURDERS, SPAS USED AS PROSTITUTION/SOME HIV DETECTED, DRUGS ETC. MOST GO TO A COUNTRY CLOSER TO THEM AND CHEAPER. JUST BECAUSE NUMBERS ARE SPAT OUT, DOESN'T MEAN $$ ARE FLOWING IN FROM TOURISTS.
