They know the pulses of the people and have come to a conclusion that the next government of Srilanka will be led by NPP. so it’s better to be acquainted with its leaders.

Great to see this...the country must have a qualified and honest leader. This shows that the intentional community feel some change in Lankan politics.. 225 mps are now shaking and thinking to changes sides but NPP is not like that take all courrpt people on board

NPP leader can't speak any international languages and has to depend on others for translations. How efficient will be his administration if comes to power?

kumari sena Thursday, 02 May 2024 05:49 PM

DPerera Please refrain from posting bias opinions. Have you seen EU heads of states speaking in their language and the contents translated? One should be proud to speak in their own language. Your opinion is the result of 200 years of colonialism.

    Sunil Thursday, 02 May 2024 06:11 PM

Chinese President depends on translators, so do Russia, Japan. Don't evaluate people by English language proficiency only. Many rural boys are very clever but have no connections and influence to rise up. So they get stagnated in life. This is the reality.

Nihal Ivan Thursday, 02 May 2024 06:17 PM

The guys who claim 'Speak International Languages' destroyed this country

Translators Commonly Used Thursday, 02 May 2024 09:27 PM

@D DPerera - looks like a keyboard warrior from overseas. Look at your part of the world, it’s crumbling down with racism, homelessness and hatred for Asians. Renown universities around the world are in choas now! Scary living in these “developed” countries these days! Translators are used at all major global meetings. They are used everywhere and it’s commonly used by politicians who gets the message across and work done accordingly.

Sam Silva Friday, 03 May 2024 02:09 AM

Sure the country is going right direction and you will see where it will End. Didn't Norway who wanted our country to have peace talk with the tigers during critical time of the war and favored the tigers.

LOOKS LIKE THE WORLD HAS FINALLY BEGUN TO OPEN THEIR EYES!!. WE HAVE A CORRUPT GOVERNMENT STILL IN POWER WHO TOGETHER WITH GOTA BROUGHT THE COUNTRY DOWN AND IF ANYONE THINKS THAT ANY OF THESE LOT DESERVE TO BE GOVERNING THE COUNTRY, THEY MUST BE EITHER IDIOTS AND OR CHARMED. HOUND THE LOT OUT, OR SUFFER FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

This is unprecedented, never happened before!! Most countries holding discussions with president-in-waiting AKD. The general consensus is NPP gonna win with overwhelming majority at the next general Elections!!

Dinesh Withanage Friday, 03 May 2024 08:45 AM

Always representing cordial intimacy with all the western democracies and in the state of oblivion of the traditional socialist block neither at least with the progressive front

    DPerera Friday, 03 May 2024 12:48 PM

It seems when a legitimate question is raised and NPP has no answer, NPP supporters' only solution is to attack the person who raised the question. Is that the way future NPP government will work? That sounds like running the country similar to North Korea and Cuba, and it is frightening.

Can Anura Kumara understand English? Can he talk a word of English?

    Sam Friday, 03 May 2024 05:23 PM

Essential for a leader are vision, honesty and commitment. Many world leaders including our neighbour, India's Narendra Modi does not speak English. You might want to appoint a professor of English as your president?

    Jude Friday, 03 May 2024 09:28 PM

I don't think you're a Professor, you're a lowlife scumbag who make such dumbass statement!! Have you heard or seen leaders from China, Japan or Russia speaking in English!???

    K.A. Fernandopulle [ATTORNEY-AT-LAW] Friday, 03 May 2024 01:11 PM

Even Former President Sirisena used to write English in Sinhala and read it. Likewise, I hope Dissa also doing the same while dealing with Foreign Dignitaries.
