President, PM says no curfew or lockdown

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today reportedly informed there was no necessity of the country going for total lock down or curfew due to the severe shortage of fuel, as more fuel shipments were expected to arrive in the country next week.

The Daily Mirror learns that some ministers and officials had inquired the President and the Prime Minister if a lockdown or a curfew was necessary. But both leaders had reportedly responded negatively.

However, the government is considering introducing the online system for school and public services for two weeks starting Monday.

Sources said however, no final decision had yet been taken.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

It is a must to go for online system for schools and government office work. Also for private sector where possible. Also need a practical simple solution fuel issue. Here is a suggestion until a better solution is found for fuel shortage. Based on last number in number plate. Odd numbers on odd days and even numbers on even days. This way at least you can limit the unnecessary ques.

There is no leader but the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Sri Lanka, President himself has been authorized by the constitution and was voted 6.9 million votes to be elected to the powerful office. A figure head, a National List MP turned Prime Minster Ranil Wickremasinghe has no right to declare anything without the order of the President. So, when publishing news items here, code of ethics should be followed rather ignoring the discipline.

I am a specialist doctor belongs to a teaching hospital in Colombo, I was waiting in the fuel queue for eight hours yet could not get fuel and went back home with the empty tank, I could not carry out work for two days, I feel sorry for the poor patients whom I treat. Whose fault is this - you both are responsible.
