Jaffna, Jan. 05 (Daily Mirror)- President Ranil Wickremesinghe has endorsed the 13th Amendment for a strong local economy, assuring non-interference.
He said this during a meeting with professionals in Jaffna.
The President urged learning from countries like Japan, Korea, the UK and France on independent regional economies.
Emphasizing devolution through laws, he noted only the Western Province has financial independence and urged each province to actively use the 13th Amendment powers for development.

At least learn from looking at other developed countries like Australia, Canada, USA, India etc., following similar systems. What do you mean by cultural disaster? Are you trying to show off English you learnt recently? There was never ever a United Sri Lanka, except during British rule, to be disunified now. It reflects your level of intellect. LTTE is not Tamils or Muslims or any other minority representative. All what you, Sinhala Buddhists, want is all others to be subservient to you and to trample them. With such a mentality from majority, there'll never be real unity in SL. Things will only get worse.

He is the our most educated and well read President we ever had. The respect he has from his peers is immense , even amongst the other secular ethnic identities is our great nation. He was very close in being the leader back then, but for a misguided and ignorant ideologies ( every single leader since independence) we are now back peddling in deep mud. Ranil seems far better compared to other leaders, who didn't show leadership during economic struggle and don't have an explicit view/opinion on the ethnic issue. However, the majority population seems to think otherwise.
