Some of the areas of the island are affected by flood due to the prevailing adverse weather condition in the country these days. The 13th South Asian Games winners of the Sri Lanka Army were felicitated during a ceremony held yesterday at the Army Headquarters under the patronage of Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva. The army team won 85 medals. The army commander is seen with Dilshi Kumarasinghe, who won three gold medals.

This is clearly evident from what is happening along the Wellawata Beach these days when people visit the place to take a glimpse of the marooned seal that is resting among the boulders. The mammal is being protected by the police environment unit and wildlife officers from the crowds trying to take photos and selfies.
