Suffering continues for Colombo stocks
The Colombo Stock exchange dipped further today extending persistent concerns over the overall market sentiments.
ASI decreased by 10.85 points (-0.23%) to close at 4,737.75 and liquid MPI dropped by 9.54 points (-0.23%) to end at 4,198.26.
Market turnover posted at Rs.246.4mn.
National Development Bank recorded the top turnover for the day at Rs.29.7mn. In addition Royal Ceramic Plc (Rs.17.1mn) and Tkyo Cement Nonvoting (Rs.11.6mn) registered notable turnover levels for the day.
In the meantime counters such as Richard Pieris & Company Plc, Environmental Resources Plc and Swarnamahal Financial Plc traded heavily in trading hours.
Foreign participation posted at 14.8% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net buyers with a net foreign inflow of Rs.48.8mn
