SLT profits flat

Sri Lanka's leading fixed line operator, Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT) recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs.1.05 billion for the September quarter (3Q11), up by 3 percent, year-on-year.
Revenue during the period under consideration went up slightly to Rs.12.6 billion, but operating profit fell 15 percent to Rs.1.39 billion.
During the nine months to September 30, 2011, operating profits of the fixed telecom operations of the company rose to Rs.982 million compared with the Rs.811 million recorded in the same period last year.
However, the operating profit of the mobile telecom operations of SLT by Sri Lanka Mobitel fell to Rs.1.49 billion from previous year's Rs.1.7 billion.
