Wasim Cader steals the show at Monthly Medal golf

Wasim Cader became the overall winner at the Visa Monthly Medal Championship at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) with a remarkable score of 62 Nett. 

His consistent play across the fairways and greens made him the standout performer of the tournament where more than 200 golfers teed off in the two-day tournament.

In the Visa Infinite Customer segment Dr Pradeep Edward won with 62 Nett while Janaki Sugathapala accounted for the Ladies segment with a Nett win of 69.

The highly competitive Division A (handicap 0 to 9) saw Adam Fernando shine to claim the Nett title with a score of 68 while also demonstrating power and accuracy to take the Gross title with a solid 73. Arvind Fernando son of former Sri Lanka tennis star Arjun Fernando, followed closely finishing as runner-up in the Nett division with 72.

In the Division B (Handicap 10–18), it was a dominant performance by Dr. Pradeep Edward who not only won the Nett with 62 but also the Gross title with 79 while Prabath Gamage  secured the  Nett runner-up spot with a score of 69 on a count-back win.

The Division C (Handicap 19–28) belonged to Wasim Cader, who complemented his overall title with another Nett win of 62, while Moditha Silva earned runner-up honors with 63 and claimed the Gross title with a score of 88.

The Seniors Division witnessed consistent performances with the witty Subramaniam Yegendran carding an excellent 63 for victory while Kumar Boralessa showed his experience and precision to clinch the Gross title with a score of 84 and VK Vasan took Nett runner-up with 70.

In the Masters Division, TP Ramarajan in superb form won the Nett title with 65 while Lal Dias secured the Gross title with 89 on a count-back adding to the excitement in this segment.

The Junior Division highlighted the rising stars of the club, with the promising Sanjul de Silva winning the Nett with 70 on a count-back method. Pranav Muralidharan delivered an impressive gross score of 75 to take the crown. Ayaan Gunasekera finished Nett runner-up.

Among the Ladies, the Silver Division was led by Tiru Jesudasan (68 Nett) and Kaya Daluwatte (75 Gross). The Bronze division saw Sandra Cadien (65 Nett) and Viv Fowler Watt (96 Gross) shine while in the Ladies Senior Division, Myungcok Jane Hone achieved a brilliant double with 70 Nett and Gross.

The Visa Infinite Customer, Longest Drive was won by Arvind Fernando who showed what power he holds while the accuracy of WAK Fernando won the Nearest to the PIN.
