Half tons by Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka and Kamil Mishara helped Sri Lanka to come out on top against New Zealand A at the end of the second day’s play in the second unofficial Test match played at the Galle Stadium yesterday.
Udara who made 61 with eight boundaries and Madushka 57 with five boundaries gave the home team a flying start with the pair associating in a 98 runs stand. This was followed with Madushka sharing another valuable partnership of 97 runs for the second wicket with Kamil Mishara who remained unbeaten on 72 made in just 57 balls which had ten boundaries to help Sri Lanka A to end the day with a score of 197 for 2,
Earlier in the day New Zealand A resuming from their overnight score of 238 for 4 was unable to make any headway as the late order batting succumbed to spinner Dilum Sudeera who ended with a six wicket haul.
They were bowled out for 305 and lost their last six wickets for the addition of only 67 runs.
