Thomian boy misses 10-wicket haul

Sadhin Ekanayake

A match bag of 9 for 35 by right arm spinner Sadhin Ekanayake paved the way for S. Thomas’ College to coast to an outright win by an innings and 38 runs over Methodist High School Moratuwa in their Under 13 inter-school cricket encounter played at Horana.

It is very rare for an under-13 player to grab 10 wickets in a match and Ekanayake’s feat puts him in the top shelf of promising young bowlers in the schools arena.

His feat bundled out their opponents for 61 and the Thomians in reply declared at 164 for 5 only to wipe them out again for a second essay total of 65.
