Shamlie Nawas new coach of junior rugby teams

Proven rugby coach and educator with extensive experience across schools, clubs and the Sri Lanka youth team, Shamlie Nawas, was appointed as the head coach of the Sri Lanka Under-20 boys’ and girls’ teams for the Asia Rugby Sevens in Bihar, India on August 9 and 10.

Nawas coached, Isipathana, Zahira, Thurstan, Police SC, Air Force SC and Army SC and was also assistant coach of the Sri Lanka Under-20 team in both 7s and XVs. He was also assistant coach of the women’s Sevens team and is a World Rugby Level 3 Coach and Educator.

The final squads for the Asian Under-20 Sevens event is yet to be announced.
