Referee Rankothge no more

Former Sylvester’s, Kandy Sports Club and one of the senior referees, Aruna Rankothge passed away in Kandy yesterday.

Rankothge also held senior positions in the Central Province Referees Society as the President and Sri Lanka Referees Society he held the Vice President’s role. He also served in the Asian Referees panel officiating in many Asia Rugby 7s and XVs tournaments.

He also coached several leading schools in rugby football at junior level plus his alma mater at under 19 level.
