The October Access Monthly Medal 2025 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club had a record turnout of over 280 golfers teeing off in one of the most competitive events on the club calendar. It was a day of skill, composure and consistency as players battled across divisions for top honors in the month’s medal round.
In the overall segment, Rakbo Perera delivered a spectacular performance with a 59 Nett, sealing the overall men’s title. His consistent play also made him dominate Division C, where he claimed both the Nett (59) and Gross (83) prizes. Darshana Maralanda was the runner up in this C segment. Among the women, Margo Sellayah produced a composed round to post 65 Nett, taking home the Overall Ladies title as well as victories in the Ladies Seniors Nett (65) and Gross (96) segments.
The Division A Nett title was won by Rohan Pieris who carded 66 Nett, narrowly edging out Arvind Fernando on 67. Meanwhile, Husni Uwise was steady off the tee and sharp on the greens to win the Division A Gross with a fine 69.
In Division B, Rohith Fonseka was in good form taking the Nett title with 68, just ahead of Rohan de Silva who finished one stroke behind. The Gross title in the same division went to Chulaka Amarasinghe who posted a steady 79.
The Seniors Division saw Sunimal Salgadu card 66 Nett to edge out James Mathews (70), while Kumar Boralessa took the Gross with 80. Among the Masters, Hirantha Gunasekera edged out VT Sundaralingam on count-back with a 67 Nett, while Bandung Weerasimghe topped the Gross category with 74.
In the Junior Division, Sandul de Silva claimed the Nett title on 67, followed by Shehan Herath (69), while Thejas Rathiskanth took the Gross on 77.
The women’s Silver Division witnessed a close battle with Tiru Jesudasan clinching the Nett on count-back with 73, narrowly ahead of Dhanushi Senadhira who however won the Gross title with 81.
In the Bronze, Thiumi Gunasekera dominated with victories in both Nett (67) and Gross (94) with her maiden gross and Nett win. Dinoo de Mel had to settle for the second place in the Nett
(68 B/B9).
