Pulindu explodes with first double century

Pulindu Perera slammed the first double ton of the ongoing Under 23 Emerging Club two day cricket tournament when he made a career best knock of 223 to help Nugegoda S&WC taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 346 for 8 declared against Army SC on day one in the match played at the Army ground in Dombagoda.

Pulindu’s knock which came off 241 balls had 19 boundaries and eight towering sixes and he along with Kavishka Boteju associated in a massive stand of 256 runs for the third wicket after they lost two wickets for eight runs.

There was another run fiesta at the Colts ground with Police SC openers Sangeeth Shehara cracking 143 and Dhanuja Induwara hitting 138 against Galle CC. The matches will be continued today.
