Opener Nithish Kamalasooriya shone with twin half tons for Ananda Sastralaya Kotte against traditional rivals St. John’s Nugegoda in their drawn 24th Battle of Sri Jayawardenepura big match concluded at P. Sara Stadium yesterday.
Nithish, who made a top score of 86 in the first innings, followed it up with another fine knock of 65.
The morning session of proceedings saw the St. John’s, in reply to the Sastralians score of 204, resuming from their overnight score of 82/4 being restricted to a score of 198.
