NSF finals underway in Galle

The 49th National Sports Festival (NSF) begins yesterday (July 18) with the finals of seven national-level sporting events being held in and around Galle, Hikkaduwa, and Matara. The event is organized by the Ministry of Sports and the Department of Sports Development.

The seven sports featured at this stage are Marathon, Cycling, Race Walking, Volleyball, Softball Cricket, Netball and Tug of War. According to the Ministry, nearly 3,000 athletes, who qualified through provincial-level competitions, are set to compete in these finals.

The National Sports Festival is Sri Lanka’s premier multi-sport event at the national level, designed to showcase and reward top talent from all provinces in a competitive and spirited environment.
