Major Club Tier ‘B’ Semi Final No match for finalist SSC

Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) coasted to the final of the Major Club Tier ‘B’ limited overs tournament with a convincing 81 runs win over Negombo CC in the second semi final played at the SSC ground yesterday.

Negombo CC in their run chase lost early wickets and at one stage were struggling on 63 for 5 in the 16th over.

Despite the late order batting offering some resistance Negombo CC were able to muster a score of only 183 runs.

Earlier SSC taking first lease of the wicket were helped by half tons from Chaminda Wickramasinghe and Dinura Kalupahana as they made 264 which came on the back of two partnerships first of 67 runs for the fourth wicket between Sadisha Rajapakse and Kenul de Zoysa and the other of 75 runs for the sixth wicket between Chaminda Wickramasinghe and Dinura Kalupahana.
