MILO Football Champs 2024 of Vavuniya-Northern Province

Mar. 13 (Daily Mirror) - The third match of the MILO Football Champs 2024 - Northern Province,(under 10 and under 12) was held in the Vavuniya district over the weekend with the participation of 32 teams, comprising 7 Girls' and 25 Boys' teams.

Emerging victorious this weekend were V/Nelukkulam Kalaimagal Maha Vidyalaya (Girls' under 10), V/Vipulanantha College (Boys' - under 10), V/Saivapragasa Ladies College (Girls' under 12) and V/Tamil Madya Maha Vidyalaya (Boys' under - 12)

From this weekend’s event, the teams representing the following schools are qualified to compete in the highly anticipated final round, scheduled to be held at the Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna on March 23.

Under 10 Girls': V/Nelukkulam Kalaimagal Maha Vidyayala

Under 10 Boys': V/Vipulanantha College, V/Nelukkulam Kalaimagal Maha Vidyayala, V/Muslim Maha Vidyalaya and V/Moondumurippu Government Tamil School.

Under 12 Girls: V/Saivapragasa Ladies College, V/Muthaliyankulam Roman Catholic Tamil Mix School, V/Vinayagr Vidyalaya and V/Moondumurippu Government Tamil School.

Under 12 Boys: V/Tamil Madya Maha Vidyalaya, V/Muthaliyankulam Roman Catholic Tamil Mix School, V/Aruvithoddam Sivanantha Vidyalaya and V/Nelukkulam Kalaimagal Maha Vidyayala.

Unleashing the potential of future football stars, the MILO Football Champs programme aims to ignite the sportsmanship skills of aspiring athletes in the Northern Province.

Alongside the tournament, a select group of talented individuals will receive specialised training on weekends over the coming months, guided by seasoned coaches from the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association.

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Northern Province Department of Education, and the sponsorship of Nestlé MILO, the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association will manage the facilitation of this programme.

Nestlé MILO, in its journey towards fostering talent at grassroot level in all sports in Sri Lanka and championing gender diversity in sports, sponsors this programme with a vision of nourishing the future generations of Sri Lanka.
