MAS stamp their class at Mercantile volleyball

MAS Holdings put on a stellar show to lay their hands on four championship titles in multiple categories at the recently concluded Mercantile Volleyball Tournament at the Sir Albert F Peiris Sports Complex, Wennappuwa. 

The two-day tourney had some of Sri Lanka’s best players in action with plenty of promise shown for the future of what is said to be the national sport.

The MAS women’s squad were a class apart as they proved their dominance by securing the first place titles in the Masters, Championship and the Super League categories while the men’s A-Division title was also secured by MAS as well. 

Masters - Women Winners - MAS Intimates Casualline

In the finals MAS Casualline beat Maliban 25-09 and 25-14 to clinch a 2-0 clean sweep.

Best Setter - Nayana Jayarathna – Casualline

Masters – Men:  MAS Stretchline (third place)

A – Division - Women: MAS Matrix (third place)

A – Division - Men:  Winners - MAS Unichela Panadura

In a tough grand finale, Unichela staged a superb comeback in the second (25-18) and third (25-17) sets after losing out in the first set (25-21) against Brandix Apparel Essentials to lift the title after a tense 2-1 victory.

Super League - Women: Winners - MAS Intimates Casualline

MAS Intimates Casualline powered past Hirdaramani with a 3-0 clean sweep (25–22 | 25–14 | 25–16) to claim the Championship Title.

Championship - Women: Winners - MAS Intimates Casualline

MAS Intimates Casualline stormed past Omega Line with a clean sweep 3–0 (25–18 | 25–15 | 25–19) to become the Women’s Champions of the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament 2025.
