Sri Lanka girls emerged champions of the Billie Jean Cup – Asia Oceania Group 3 tennis tournament when they recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Turkmenistan in the final played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

The match came to a conclusion after the Sri Lankan girls won the two single matches achieved by Akesha Silva and Dinara de Silva who secured easy wins against  Aynur Movlyanova and Illima Guseynova by the identical winning margins of two sets to nil. The win saw Sri Lanka girls earning the promotion to the Group 2 Asia Oceania Group 2.
