Athletes return with eight medals

The Sri Lanka youth athletics team that participated in the 22nd Asian Under-20 Athletic Championship 2026 held in Hong Kong returned to Sri Lanka after a successful tour and was warmly welcomed at the Katunayake International Airport.

The Sri Lanka contingent of 22 athletes (15 men and 7 women), won a total of two gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

With this performance, Sri Lanka secured the eighth place among 16 medal-winning nations in the championship.
