Defending Inter-School Rugby League champions, Trinity College, Kandy, officially felicitated their sponsors ahead of the 2026 schools rugby season, reaffirming strong corporate backing as they prepare to defend their coveted title. This sponsorship support is expected to further strengthen the team’s preparations for another challenging year in the schools rugby calendar.
For the second consecutive year, Asia Securities Group will continue as the Principal Sponsor of Trinity Rugby. Their continued partnership reflects confidence in the school’s well-structured rugby programme and its long-standing sporting tradition, especially following the Lions dominating the league competition and ending as runners-up in the knockout tournament.
NDB has joined the Trinity setup as the Team Sponsor, adding further financial strength behind the squad. Meanwhile, Softlogic Life will be the Platinum and Insurance Sponsor, providing valuable backing to ensure the players receive the best possible support both on and off the field.
Several other partners have also stepped forward to support the Trinity Lions this year, including Schokman and Samarawickrama, Montrela Consultants, Araliya Group, Da Vinci Ceramics, Gordon Sri Lanka, Ceylon Agro Industries – Prima Group (Hot and Spicy), Yes FM as the radio partner, 99X as the tech partner and Gilbert Sri Lanka as the official rugby ball supplier.
Trinity Rugby Lion, Shan Althaf, will lead the outfit, while two more Lion winners, Nisith Kumarasinghe and Udan Wijekoon, will be the deputies. Fazil Marija will head the coaching unit for the third year in tandem.
