111th Colombo Tennis Championship: Dinara and Thehan clinch singles titles

Dinara de Silva and Thehan Wijemanne clinched the Women’s and Men’s Open singles of the 111th Colombo Tennis Championship by coming out victorious in the two finals played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Dinara the defending champion succeeded to retain the title for the second successive year but she faced stiff opposition from Yuhansa in a match that went to the wire which took three hours and 50 minutes to decide the winner before Dinara prevailed by two sets to one.

In contrast the men’s final was a one-sided affair with Thehan Wijemanne pulling off an easy two sets to nil win over Luca Knese. This was Thehan’s second title win having earlier won it in 2019.
