Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, the Minister of Higher Education Hon. Susil Premajayantha and State Minister Hon. Suren Raghavan on 22nd July 2023. The Platinum certificate was awarded to Abans Engineering (Pvt) Ltd in recognition of commendable commitment in promoting sustainable development in Sri Lanka and the efforts taken to transform the Sri Lankan Construction Industry with sustainable practices along with the Ceylon Institute of Builders in the Central Air Conditioning sector. Central Air Conditioning Systems is the highest electricity consuming system in any building that accounts for 50% or higher total power consumption of commercial buildings.

Therefore, the Platinum award for Central Air Conditioning product category stands out as one of the most important and prestigious awards under the leadership towards sustainability in the Sri Lankan Construction Industry recognized at the 11th World Construction Symposium 2023. Among the many criteria used for this award, following merits were noted for the recognition; Abans Engineering, has supplied and commissioned the largest capacity Chiller in Sri Lanka to Havelock City Project with the latest HFO refrigerant that has no effect on Ozone layer as well as negligible effect on Global Warming Potential. Abans Engineering supplied and commissioned 03 Numbers of 1,500 TR Trane Centrifugal Chillers and 01 Unit of 500 TR Trane Centrifugal Chiller to this project after optimizing the best efficient selection for the project. This is the first chiller introduced to Sri Lanka with the latest HFO refrigerant. Further, Abans Engineering supplied, installed & commissioned 06 Numbers of 850 TR Trane Centrifugal Chillers for the renowned Waterfront Integrated Project (Cinnamon Life) which are with the new R-514A HFO based refrigerant.
