Shan Nonis of Christ King College, Ja-Ela achieved the unique honour of scoring the first triple century of the Under 19 inter-school cricket season.

The 16-year-old right hand batter slammed a swashbuckling unbeaten 300 in just 159 balls cracking 19 boundaries and 27 towering sixes against Galahitiyawa Central in a match concluded at Ja-ela yesterday.

Nonis was associated in three huge partnerships of 124 with fellow opener Lahiru Lakmal, 204 for the second wicket with Avishka Nirmal and 149 for the third with Rayan Sachintha as Christ King’s mammoth total of 507 for three declared in their second innings. However, Christ King College had to settle for a first innings win.

Lumbini MV resuming from their overnight 10 for three were bundled out for a meagre 64. Following on with a deficit of 187 runs, they ended on 131 for nine denying the Cambrians an outright win.
