Sri Lanka’s Saajida advance to semi finals

Sri Lanka’s Saajida Razick advanced to the semi-finals of the ITF Junior Circuit Week 1 tennis tournament when she recorded a hard-fought two sets to win over Younsoo Cho of Korea in the quarter-final encounter played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday while Eunsoo Lee of Korea defeated Anvi Punaganto of India also by two sets to one in another quarter-final played which was played concurrently.

Meanwhile in the boys category Amirali Ghavan of India along with Jintao Lan and Xianfeng Chen both of China and Daniel Bien of Czecha won their quarter-final encounters to book the berths to semi-finals.

The tournament will be continued today.

Singles Quarter Finals:

Girls

Eunsoo Lee (Korea) beat Anvi Punaganti (India) 2-1 (4/1, 2/4, 4/1). Saajida Razick (Sri Lanka) beat Younsoo Cho (Korea) 2-1 (1/4, 4/2,  4/1).

Boys

Amirali Ghavan (India) beat Sriniketh Kannan (India) 2-0 (4/0, 4/0). Jintao Lan (China) beat Alexander Nordal Clausen (Denmark) 2-1 (4/2, 2/4, 4/2). Xianfeng Chen (China) beat Dev Kanbargimath (Romania) 2-0 (5/4, 4/0). Daniel Bien (Czecha) beat Samprit Sharma (India) 2-1 (2/4, 5/4, 4/2).
