Kandy SC was officially presented with the Nippon Paint Inter Club Rugby League 2022 trophy after ending as champions at the Sri Lanka Rugby Awards Night at Kingsbury Hotel last Friday.

The unbeaten side once again proved their dominance after winning the league for a record 22 times in the last 27 seasons starting in 1994.

Fly-half Tharinda Ratwatte walked away with the Player of the Tournament 2022 award after scoring well over 100 points in the last season.

Kandy SC, under Nigel Ratwatte, won all games in the last two seasons, including the sevens, with Fazil Marija being the Head Coach during this time.

Navy SC was crowned plate champion, while Air Force SC took the runner-up trophy.
Nippon Paint confirmed their continued support for the League and Knockout tournaments in the future as well.
