Sachintha steers Christ King to title win

A fine knock of 67 by Rayan Sachintha laid the foundation for Christ King College, Ja-ela to record a close eight run win over Royal Panadura in the final played at the Thurstan ground to emerge champions of the Under-17 Division Two inter-school cricket tournament .   

Sachintha’s knock helped Christ King College taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 140 runs and in the run chase Royal Panadura was able to muster a score of only 132.

Christ King Ja-ela 140 in 46.3 overs (Rayan Sachintha 67, Pramod Chamika 22; Sethika Dilmith 4 for 17, Rusith Jayawardana 3 for 11)   

Royal Panadura 132 in 40.2 overs (Rusith Jayawardana 45, Sethika Dilmith 20 not out; Avishka Nirmal 2 for 19, Sharith Sudeena 2 for 24)
