Skipper Nipunaka Fonseka and Shenal Botheju cracked half tons to help St. Peter’s College take control against Trinity College at the end of the first day’s play of their Under 19 schools cricket encounter at Bambalapitiya.
Fonseka slammed 71 while Botheju made 51 enabling St. Peter’s taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 277 for 9 declared. Trinity in their turn ended the day on 85 for 2.
S. Thomas’ College were 25 for 1 in reply to Ananda College’s score of 217 on day one in the match played at Mt. Lavinia. The matches will be continued today.
