NEGC Ladies event to tee off on November 12

The Championship, Captain’s Cup and President’s Prize events of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) Ladies Championship will take place on November 12 and 13 at the NEGC Course.

The Main sponsor will be Wurth Lanka (Private) Limited. The first Ladies Club Championship was first played in 1939 while 20 years later the Captains Cup was played, in 1959.

The President’s Prize was initiated in 1936 at NEGC.

The first Ladies Club Championship, Ladies Captain’s Cup and Ladies President’s Prize were won E B Curie, D F W King and Gresham Jonson respectively.

The defending champion of the Ladies Captain’s Cup and Club Championship is Arika Wickremasingha but unfortunately, she will not be in action as she is currently overseas for her higher studies.
