Zahira College find itself playing in their most import important match of the season when they take on Isipathana College at Havelock Park today.

Zahira need to beat Isipathana to keep their hopes alive of winning the League and at the same time may certain they don’t end a successful season on a losing note.

Zahira was the only side to give Trinity College a big scare until now but unfortunately were unable to make it.

However Zahira is one of the contenders for the league title and with that in mind they are not going to take things easy.

Zahira led by centre Hakeem Chunchi have been a side to be reckoned with as they chalked wins against top teams Royal, Wesley and St Peter’s and are lying second in the Cup segment table.

Chunchi possess players who have been their backbone so far and bank on Number Eight Muzil Samath, hooker Shahib Ishan, props Habeeb Uzmi and Ahamed Farath, flankers Shaheen Shyam and Farshan Fazlath and scrum half Afham Abdeen to deliver the goods.

Isipathana led by Number Eight Shaahid Zumri cannot be satisfied with their performance this season as they did not play to expectations and underwent defeats in matches that they could have won. They would be looking to sign-off on a bright and breezy note.

They possess key players in the likes of wingers Tharuka Jayaweera and Rizmi Jaffrad, centre Yuvindu Kodituwakku, fly half Kenula de Costa and the reliable kicker in full back Nimantha Sandeepa who is also a playmaker that Zumri will bank on.
