Thomian boy slams 14 sixes making 183

Methuka Gunaratne, a budding cricketer from S. Thomas’ College, slammed a quick-fire 120-ball knock of 183 that included 13 boundaries and 14 towering sixes to help his team record a massive 197 runs win over Tissa Central Kalutara in their Under 17 inter-school limited overs tournament encounter at Moratuwa yesterday.

Methuka’s knock had S. Thomas’ taking first lease of the wicket make an imposing 374 for 9 and Tissa Central in their turn was bowled out for 177.

Dharmaraja College too pulled off a big win by 144 runs over Sri Rahula Katugastota in the match played at Anuradhapura. 

St Peter’s College, Dharmaloka MV and Royal College also won.
