Defending champions CCC along with Kurunegala YCC, SSC and Army SC booked their places in the semi-finals of the Major Club T20 cricket tournament yesterday.
Kurunegala YCC shocked NCC by 63 runs in the match played at the P Sara Stadium. Gayan Maneeshan made a 48- ball knock of 56 inclusive of two boundaries and two sixes and was associated in two fruitful partnerships, first of 58 for the opening wicket with Dhanushka Dharmasiri and the other of 74 runs for the third wicket with Sameera Sandamal , as Kurunegala YCC batting first made a challenging score of 155.

NCC in their turn were unable to make any headway as they succumbed to the bowling of Naveen Gunawardena,

Randeera Ranasinghe and Ruvin Peiris and were able to muster a score of just 92 runs.

A knock of 58 runs in 38 balls with three boundaries and three sixes by Lasith Abeyratne laid the foundation for CCC to record a comfortable 57-run win over Ragama CC in another match played in the morning session at P Sara Stadium.

The two matches played at the CCC ground saw SSC coast to a convincing seven-wicket win over Colts CC and Army SC recording a close five-run win against Negombo CC.
The semi-finals are scheduled to be played on March 18 with CCC meeting SSC in the morning session and Kurunegala YCC confronting Army SC in the evening session at the
NCC ground.
