A quick fire 36-ball 57 inclusive of three boundaries and three sixes by skipper Angelo Perera helped Nugegoda S&WC to record a 13-run win over Chilaw Marians CC in the Major Club T20 cricket tournament encounter played at P. Sara Oval.

The match curtailed to 13 overs due to late start saw Nugegoda S&WC taking first lease of the wicket making a grand recovery after losing their top three wickets for four overs thanks to skipper Mathews and Akram Muthalib who put on 91 run for the fourth wicket to finally make 110.

Chilaw Marians CC made steady progress but succumbed to bowling trio of Akila Dilshan, Suwath Mendis and Abdul Hakam and was restricted for a score of 97 and in the process Nugegoda S&WC chalked up their first win of the tournament.

The other five matches which were scheduled to be played were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to wet outfield.
