Major Club Limited Over NCC and Ragama CC chalk up fifth wins

NCC and Ragama CC maintained their unbeaten record in the ongoing Major Club Limited Over cricket tournament when they chalked up their fifth successive win of the tournament in the matches played at the NCC and Thurstan ground yesterday.


NCC spearheaded by quick fire tons from Chathuranga de Silva who made a 96 ball knock of 118 inclusive of seven boundaries and five sixes and skipper Angelo Perera who cracked 106 in 100 balls which had ten boundaries and two sixes with the pair associating in a massive 212 runs for the fifth wicket helped the side record a 37 runs win over Tamil Union.
Janith Liyanage slammed 102 in 101 balls which included six boundaries and three sixes and supported by a knock of 81 by Nishad Madushka enabled Ragama CC to coast to a convincing 132 runs win over Galle CC.


SSC thanks to tons by Avishka Fernando and skipper Charith Asalanka recorded their fourth win by eight wickets against Colts CC in a high scoring match played at the SSC ground.
