June National Ranking Tournament 2025 Danushan takes early lead

Young Kumar Danushan produced top class performance at the June Ranking Championship carding a brilliant 4-under-par 67 to take the lead after day one at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday.  

Danushan’s performance stood out amidst a competitive leaderboard, where seasoned pros such as Nadarjah Thangaraja and Lalith Kumara.  

Thangaraja returned an impressive 3 under 68 to finish the day in second place, while Lalith Kumara was just behind with a solid 1 under 70 rounding out the top three overall.  

Among the amateurs Chanaka Perera recorded a steady 1 over 72 to place fourth while Reshan Algama ended the day 2 over 73 tied for the fifth overall position with Uchitha Ranasinghe.  

Haroon Aslam returning from USA was tied on 7th place with K. Prabagaran on 7th position while Jacob Norton was tied on 10th position   

Sri Lanka’s highest World Amateur Golf Ranked (WAGR) player at this event Jevahn Sathasivam posted 5 over 76 coming back from injury.
