Gihan secures overall win

Gihan Wickremasinghe won the NTB Customer Best Stableford win with a score of 44.

Shernal de Silva won the NTB Amex Challenge trophy with a score of 46.

This annual event sponsored by NTB saw more than 260 golfers plus 30 exciting juniors teeing off.

The Ladies Division featured fierce competition, beginning with the Bronze Division  where Mavali Weerasinghe clinched the title with 36 points, edging out runner-up Deepani Gamage, who garnered 33 points.

In the  Silver Division, Dr. Pravina Dunuwilla showed exceptional form taking home the winners’ trophy with 39 points, while Jade Jiggens finished strong as the runner-up with 35 points.

The  Seniors Ladies Division Niranjali  Amarasooriya emerge victorious with 31 points, narrowly defeating H. M. D. Bandaranayake, the runner-up, who scored 29 points.

The Juniors Division was divided into two age groups, showing the next generation of golfers. Keya Abhayaratne dominated the younger group (12 to 15) with an impressive score of 47 points, while Jacob Norton topped the older group (16 to 18) with 30 points.

In the Seniors Division both S. Vethavinayakam and Tissa Wickramasinghe scored 31 points, but S. Vethavinayakam triumphed on a back nine tie-breaker.

In the Masters Division  Wijesekera also scored 36 points but won on the same tie-breaker system against runner-up Lal Dias.

The competition intensified further in the handicap divisions. In Division C (Handicap 19-28), Shernal de Silva seized victory with 46 points, closely followed by Gihan Wickramasinghe, who finished with 44 points as the runner-up.

Rajitha Siriwardena won in Division B (Handicap 10-18), scoring 44 points, while Priyanga Hapugalle was a close second with 43 points.

In Division A (Handicap 0-9), Rajeev Rajapaksa emerged as the champion with 41 points, leaving runner-up Chanaka Perera with 38 points.

In the overall winners’ section, Gihan Wickramasinghe stood out with the best Stableford score, earning him the title for 

NTB Customer best Stableford score with 44 points.

Also, Shernal de Silva received the NTB Amex Challenge Trophy for the best Stableford score, finishing with a remarkable 46 points.

In other special categories, Gihan Wickramasinghe also claimed the Nearest-to-the-PIN accolade for the 13th hole, while Sachin de Silva took home the prize for the Longest Drive at the eighth hole.
