GSTC Tennis Tournament Six players book berths to quarters

The second-round fixtures of the Men’s and Women’s Tournament of the Government Servants Tennis Club (GSTC) Tennis Tournament were completed at the GSTC Courts in Colombo yesterday.

The tournament conducted by the GSTC is being held in celebration of the milestone of 100 years of existence of the GSTC. 

Top ranked tennis players are in action contesting in the Men’s and Women’s Open Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles.  The tournament for seniors in the age groups of Over-35, 45, 55 and 65 is being played concurrently.

Results:
(Women’s Open Singles second-round): Hasandi Jayasinghe beat Ravya Perera 6-1, 6-1. (Men’s Open Singles second-round): Dumindu Dilum beat Pratheepkumar Karuppiah 6-0, 6-0. Ashen Silva beat Malinga Dharmaratne 6-1, 6-1. Binuk Silva beat Shabeeb Sadique 7-6(4), 6-7(3), 10-4. Risith Somaratna beat Neven Wevita 6-1, 6-2. Methika Wickramasinge beat Meneshka Ratnasinham 6-1, 6-2.
