FSL to restart U-19 Inter-League tournament

Football Sri Lanka (FSL) has decided to revive two inter-league football tournaments (Under 19 Junior and Senior) which have not been held for many years.

The Junior U-19 Inter-League will begin in the first week of March and the Senior Inter-League tournament in the first week of April, FSL Secretary Indika Thenuwara told ‘Daily Mirror’.
Even though FIFA has imposed an international ban on FSL, the court has given permission to continue with the organisation and administration of local tournaments, FSL Secretary said.
The FSL Executive Committee hope to lift the sport which they say has been dormant in the country for several years, and believe it should be restarted at the school level. Estimates have already been called to start the two tournaments.

FSL also plans to organise a national level tournament after these two tournaments.
