The Sri Lanka Football Team began their residential training programme at the newly built Kelaniya Complex under a secure bio-bubble recommended by the health authorities.

Prior to the residential training camp, the players and coaching staff members went through two compulsory PCR tests with a 72-hour interval. Players were kept in a hotel before they were tested and results were obtained.
Three players who tested positive in the preliminary PCR tests are reportedly in good health after being admitted to a private hospital.
