Jannik Sinner
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner could be up against seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2025, as per the draw held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday.
This year’s edition is set to be held from June 30 to July 13.
Top-seeded Italian Sinner opens his campaign against compatriot Luca Nardi with a possible quarterfinal clash with seventh seed and last year’s semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti, another Italian.
Sixth seed Djokovic, aiming to match Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon singles titles, has a tricky opener against France’s World No. 40 Alexandre Muller.
Sinner and Djokovic had recently met in the French Open semi-finals with the former clinching a straight-sets win.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and third seed Alexander Zverev are in the other half of the draw.
Spain’s Alcaraz, who beat Djokovic in the last two finals, has a potential quarter-final clash against eighth-seeded Dane Holger Rune while fifth-seeded American Taylor Fritz is projected to meet Zverev at the last-eight stage.
Alcaraz begins his title defence against 38-year-old Italian Fabio Fognini while Zverev takes on Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech in the opening round. (Agencies)
