Clements to blow Kandy match

J.P. Clements will officiate as the on-field referee for the Sri Lanka vs New Zealand U85kg encounter to be played at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium on Sunday.

Clements began refereeing in 2012 and was a member of the South African Rugby Referees’ Association (SARRA) until 2021. He formed part of the SARU Referee Academy Panel from 2016 to 2021. During this period, he officiated in various provincial tournaments in both 15s and 7s formats. He also served as an assistant referee in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge and Currie Cup First Division competitions.

Since relocating to the UAE in 2021, he has been an active member of the UAE Rugby Premiership Panel. In 2022, he joined Asia Rugby and has since been involved in multiple international fixtures, including the Asia Sevens Trophy. He has refereed and served as a World Rugby assistant referee in both 15s and 7s formats and is currently part of the West Asia Super Rugby referee panel.
