ATF Under-12 South Asia Tennis Sri Lanka girls and boys advance to SF

Sri Lanka girls and boys teams dominated day two of the ATF Under 12  Tennis Tournament at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo, recording wins in the third round robin matches advancing to the semi-finals.

They remained unbeaten with the girls notching a convincing three-nil win over Nepal while the boys staved off the challenge of India before pulling off a 2-1 win.

This was the first time that Sri Lanka has defeated India since the tournament began in 2018.  

The two semi-finals are scheduled to be played today.

GIRLS

Sri Lanka beat Nepal 3-0

Singles: Sayuri Muthuthantri beat Taeia Shrestha 2-0 (4/0, 4/2), Sethuli Mutugama beat Sara Pants 2-0 (4/0,4/0); Doubles: Sayuri  Muthuthantri/ Samaira Fernando beat Sara Pants/ Theia Shrestha 2-0 (5/4,4/2).

BOYS

Sri Lanka beat India 2-1
Singles: Revan Amarasinghe Nayan Khatri 2-0 (4/0, 4/0), B.C.Thanush (India) beat Nuren Wevita 2-0 (4/0, 4/0); Doubles: Revan Amarasinghe/ Nuren Wevita beat Nayan Khatri/ Arjun Dua 2-1.
