107th National Tennis Championship Ashen, Rukshika comes out victorious to emerge champions

Ashen de Silva and Rukshika Wijesuriya pulled off   wins in the men’s and women’s singles event finals to emerge champions at the 107th National Tennis Championship played at the SLTA Tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo recently.   

They beat former champions in  the process with De Silva overcoming four time national champion Shamal Dissanayake by two sets to nil and Wijesuriya getting the better of two time champion who is also the defending champion Anjalika Kurera with a hard fought two sets to one.

Singles Finals:

Women’s – Rukshika Wijesuriya beat Anjalika Kurera 2-1 (6/1, 6/7, 6/2).   

Men’s – Ashen de Silva beat Shamal Dissanayake 2-0 (6/4, 6/4).
