The question about the confinement of the actor-turned politico to the state lodge had figured prominently in a discussion at a top-level meeting of the telephone party held quite recently.
Several party stalwarts who participated in the discussion had reportedly insisted that they should appeal to Number One to grant a pardon to the actor-turned politico.

However, another group had taken up the position that they should not demean themselves by making an appeal for pardon for the former actor. Given the growing opposition to the suggestion,  the party heavyweights who favored the suggestion to make a collective appeal to the Number One had said: “ If you think we should not make an appeal for pardon for our colleague going by a matter of honor despite the suffering he is currently undergoing,  let us stop talking about it any further.”

Thus the suggestion for making an appeal to Number One was dropped by the party, they say.
