Cheating the poor!

A story heard on the grapevine says that two buddies of a high political authority had defrauded the payments made to some poor people for house repairs. 

The duo is said to be members of a local body in the upcountry. A secretarial authority of the province has begun an inquiry into this incident where a number of families had been cheated out of the  monies due to them through a cheque fraud.

The two members had pocketed the monies after fraudulently encashing the cheques worth Rs. 100,000 each made out in favour of the poor householders, they say.
