Veteran journalist Lakshman Jayawardene passes away

Veteran journalist Lakshman Jayawardene who had been involved in media for a long period of time passed away yesterday.   

Having stepped into the media fraternity in 1965, was once Chairman of Lakehouse.   

He was also involved in diplomatic service and served as adviser to Sri Lankan embassies in India and Canada.   

Late Mr. Jayawardene has published few books on the Sri Lankan diplomatic service.   

His remains will lie at his residence in Maharagama from Thursday and the last rites will be held on Saturday February 1 2025.
