Two schoolboys killed in lorry accident at Madurankuliya

• One of the children died at the scene of the accident while the other succumbed to his injuries while receiving emergency treatment at the Puttalam Base Hospital

Two schoolchildren were killed after being hit by a lorry in the Kilamaduchenai area of Kadayamotte in Madurankuliya, police said.  
The victims were identified as Sitija Seneth Sanjana, 8, a Grade 3 student, and Dilip Madhushanka, 12, a Grade 8 student of Kadayamotte Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya.  
According to police, one of the children died at the scene of the accident while the other was admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital with serious injuries. However, he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving emergency treatment.  
Madurankuliya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
